Policy Committees - Arts, Culture and Heritage

FECCA recognises that the arts, culture and heritage are vital to people’s lives. They are critical to maintaining individual and group identity, particularly where people feel vulnerable to being “swamped” by a dominant culture.

FECCA aims to promote a greater recognition by governments, business and the community of the value of the arts, and the importance of respecting and recognising the cultural traditions and values of Australia’s diverse population.

The FECCA Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee was formed in September 2003. Its brief includes:

  • policy development
  • providing comment on the policies and programs of other organisations when invited to do so
  • contributing to submissions
  • building alliances with other organisations with a similar focus
