Remembering Mahatma Gandhi on his 64th Martyrdom Anniversary

Interfaith Prayer Meeting 2012

Like every year since 2004, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Australia commemorates martyrdom day of the greatest apostle of peace Mahatma Gandhi (30 January) with Interfaith Prayer Meeting.

The greatest apostle of peace Mahatma Gandhi observed his all religions' prayers every day. On 30 January 1948, after breaking his fast against the Hindu - Muslim riots, as he was walking towards the altar for his evening prayers he was fatally shot. This was perhaps the saddest day in the history of humanity.

The program will consist of speeches of representatives of NSW Government and India, prayers of number of influential religious leaders representing variety of world's religions and music performances.

Date: 15 February 2012, Time: 5pm (5-5:30pm start) – 6:30pm
Venue: Theatrette at Parliament House of NSW, Macquarie Street, Sydney

The Hon. Victor Dominello MP, Minister for Citizenship and Communities has kindly agreed to host the event.
